The most economical greenhouse structure is the arched/Gothic greenhouse. The arched greenhouse roof is a simple curve, while the Gothic roof has a slight inflection point in the middle. Arched/Gothic greenhouses built by different companies are different. Some companies use truss roof beams, while others set roof joists under the gutter. In areas with less snow load, it is also possible to simply set horizontal tie rods between the greenhouse gutter columns.

The slope of the arched roof allows the greenhouse to obtain higher and more uniform light, and it can also reduce condensation on the inner surface. The choice of greenhouse light-transmitting materials includes double-layer plastic film, polycarbonate board and glass, and natural ventilation or mechanical ventilation can be used.

Some greenhouse builders build arched greenhouses with side walls diagonally braced outward. This structural form can create additional production space without adding columns, and it can also increase the stability of the entire greenhouse structure.
